Revolutionary Sensibility Fall 2011: Actualizations

The following posts were created by students in the class, The Revolutionary Sensibility in German Literature, Philosophy, and Art, at Pacific Lutheran University. Each student was asked to select a passage from one of our course texts which they had found particularly interesting, and which had in some way resonated with them -- intellectually, personally, aesthetically, politically. They would then juxtapose their passage to an image, other texts, photograph, painting -- something which would provide a frame for the passage, in either helping to explicate it, or provide an example for it, or bring out something unexpected in it, or stand in tension with it. In general, the assignment was intended to give students the opportunity to communicate some aspect of their personal reading experiences -- experiences which might not otherwise be articulated in the course of class discussion.
